Gaining Confidence

He's been threatening to do this for a few months now, but was always too cautious to take those first steps.  Something at the playground today made him throw away his caution and go for a long walk across the asphalt.  We didn't get that one on video, but did get this shorter clip.

I'm not sure who was more proud, us or him.  Isn't it funny, that, as parents, we are so proud of these milestones that every child will eventually accomplish? 13 months is a fun age though.  In the last month or so he's become more communicative and responsive.  He claps, sings, dances, gives hi-fives and even cleans the floor with rags.  The best part is that he somehow chooses to reach all these big milestones on the weekend when James is around to witness them.

They're way more fun when they start talking.
